An ELM Rack Mount Unit has a space requirement within the cabinet of 1 Unit only. All external device units are plugged into sockets. The housing consists of a modular aluminum construction. The Rack Mount Unit 3000-U53 provides the functional components listed in the table below by means of the equipped modules. The modules are mounted and wired to the housing. The rack unit contains a built-in power supply 100-240V AC, 47-63Hz, which can supply the internal modules and additional external modules and accessories.
Click on a name of a module for more information about the current technical version of that module.
The 3000-U53 is a Master Rack due to the included Communication component. This means, that this rack is fully able to work as a single ELM system. Additional connected modules may extend the system, but they are not required.
Appropriate connectors for the LAN and additional equipment, like further racks, single modules of housing versions "BOX"/"KIT", or sensors and actors, can be found at the rear of the rack. The front includes the RS232 interface socket for service/set up purposes, the on/off switch and corresponding LEDs which show the operating status of the internal modules.
The rack will be delivered complete with installation instructions and mains power cable.

Sensors for Sensor Input Components
Sensor Input Components of the ELM system are generic. No special sensors or interface controller are required and there is no dependence of a specific manufacturer. Any simple transducer that can produce 0 – 7.5V DC can be used. In addition, several specific sensors are provided. These are listed in the following table. |

Actors for Switching Components
As a reaction of exceeding or falling below a set point of the Sensor Input Component, the Relay Output Component can be switched on if it is assigned to a set point. The relay has a switch over contact which can switch up to 0,5A at 125 V AC / 1A at 30V DC. A connectable unit for switching mains power is available. |
